Locations: Job Description: The Lamar County Library System invites applications for a full-time Purvis Branch Manager. We are seeking a friendly, organized, and community-driven leader who enjoys working with people of all ages and creating a welcoming library environment. This role is essential to the daily operations of our Purvis branch and plays a key part in supporting library services throughout the system.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
Rotating Saturdays, 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma
Previous library experience
Preferred Qualifications
Some college coursework or a degree
Supervisory or team leadership experience
Customer service, programming, or public-facing work experience
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily branch operations and ensure a positive, welcoming environment
Supervise, mentor, and support branch staff
Plan, coordinate, and promote programs, events, and community outreach
Assist patrons with circulation needs, reference questions, and basic technology
Support collection maintenance and building organization
Monitor facility needs and communicate with the Director as needed
Prepare reports, maintain accurate records, and support system-wide initiatives
