“Welty”, an exhibit featuring photographs by Eudora Welty, will be on display at the Oak Grove Public Library. During the early 1930s, Eudora Welty traveled across Mississippi as a publicist for the Works Progress Administration. She used the time to take hundreds of photographs of Mississippi. The exhibit compares some of those photographs with excerpts from her writing to show the relationship between her experiences and her future writings. The exhibit “Welty” comprises 14 photographs and passages from her books.
Oak Grove Public Library will be having Storytimes every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the school year. These are intended for preschool aged children but are open to all children. Please Join us 8/27/26 at 10:30am for stories, songs, and a simple craft.
The last Friday of every month the Lamar County Library System closes for staff training. We will reopen Saturday August 29th at 10am and closes at 2pm.
